Computer-aided design (CAD) and digital capture are used to create and install crowns in one sitting. The CEREC system ensures that the crowns are not only installed quickly but also durable and highly resistant to abrasion, providing long-lasting dental solutions.

What is the CEREC crown procedure like?

This is a highly intricate procedure involving advanced computer software to create a 3D model of the tooth. During an initial consultation, Dr Sagathavan will examine the tooth and discuss treatment options. Once the area is sterilized and the tooth is prepared, a local anaesthetic is administered. Detailed images of the surrounding gums and the tooth itself are then captured using a special camera. These images are then used to create a 3D model of your tooth, which is a digital representation of the shape and size of the tooth. This model helps design your custom crown. Using innovative computer software tailored to your unique oral structure, Dr Sagathavan can produce a ceramic crown and fit, polish and secure it in place.
